The American Board of Psychoanalysis (ABPsa) is the national independent certification body for psychoanalysis. As it is our goal to be responsive to developments within the profession and practice of psychoanalysis, we would like your input regarding current psychoanalytic curricula and practice standards as they relate to our competency guidelines. We therefore want to invite you or your representative to a meeting with the ABPsa at the Hilton Austin on Thursday, June 8 from 12-1:30pm in Room 402
The Board had a lively and helpful meeting with representatives from The Baltimore Washington Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis, The Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute, The Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute and Society, and The Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research at The Waldorf in January and we hope to meet with as many institute representatives as possible in June.
A copy of those competencies can be viewed and printed by clicking this link and is also available on the ABPsa website under the heading “certification”.
Please let us know by completing this response form if you or a colleague from your Institute is able to attend.
