About Me
I am a practicing psychoanalyst and clinical psychologist. I've been certified in the practice of psychoanalysis and have been appointed as a Training and Supervising Analyst by the American Psychoanalytic Association. I'm interested in the pragmatic application of psychoanalytic ideas to the clinical situation. Although about two thirds of my practice is devoted to conducting psychoanalyses with adults, I also enjoy providing clinical consultations, case supervision, as well as psychotherapy to patients of all ages. Throughout my career I've been involved in the teaching of psychotherapy to psychology interns and psychiatric residents as well as the teaching of psychoanalysis to psychoanalytic candidates. Much of this teaching is been done within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center where I am an Associate Clinical Professor. I am also on the visiting faculty of the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center where I conduct a clinical case conference with psychiatric residents. Finally I am the co-author of a book entitled "Neurodynamics of Personality" which was published by the Guilford Press in 2000.
